Public Hotel

Public, a hotel in New York’s Lower East Side, was commissioned by hotelier Ian Schrager and designed by Herzog & de Meuron. Opened in 2017, it’s housed in a 28-story tower and presents a new concept of luxury. The entrance is hidden in a garden, and guests check-in via iPad. The hotel offers 367 minimalist rooms with modern amenities. It has communal spaces for interaction, including a lobby, a hybrid café-restaurant-market called Louis, and The Roof, a top floor bar with impressive views of Manhattan. From $300/night
