Bemelmans Bar

Situated within the Carlyle, New York’s premier luxury residential hotel, Ludwig Bemelmans, known for The New Yorker, Vogue, and the Madeline series, created iconic murals in the hotel bar. His artwork, featuring whimsical Central Park scenes with rabbits and elephants, was exchanged for a 1.5-year stay for him and his family at The Carlyle. Today, Bemelmans Bar continues to draw socialites, politicians, movie stars, and moguls with its extensive drink menu and live entertainment. The Carlyle, 353 E. 76th St., Manhattan, NY, 10021
